I have DIYed a home gallery slides but it won't upload to YouTube? What should I do?

I'm new to Blu-Ray, but getting a new Sony Vaio laptop for Christmas, which has Blu-Ray disc support and does the whole DVD/CD player/burner as well. Will the laptop be able to copy, burn Blu-Ray discs onto a blank Blu-Ray (or DVD-R)?
