How do I burn movies to play on any DVD player?

I have some movies stored on my PC and I want to burn them on DVD. I tried doing that but they don't play on my DVD player. Any help?

There's a few things, the video has to be a normal format (wmv, mpeg etc) so that the DVD player can support it. If you're using a file type not supported by the player. it won't play. Also, when you burn the DVD, are you setting it to the correct region? Depending on where you live, DVD players will only support certain regions.

You should know thatj dvd formats always have some standards.If you don't follow the right guide about it,even you actually burn video files into it,you can't play them on your dvd player.The easiest way for you is to be with the help of dvd creator software on google. It can burn video formats like mkv,mov,avi,mp4 to dvd disk format which can be played on your player.

To play the movies on a DVD player you'll have to encode them to be suitable with DVD players.
